Dear Chamber of Commerce,
"My husband and I happened to be driving through town, we saw the crowds and remembered it was "First Night". We parked the car and wandered around town. This was an awesome event!Loved the performances by "Mr Sinatra" in On a Roll...Elvis at Salon on Main and "The School of Rock" from Fort Washington who were featured at Village Pretzel were all quite entertaining! We enjoyed the broadcast from the local radio station as well. It was nice to be able to see inside the building to see how they broadcast. This was such a great way to wind down from the work week. And it made Hatboro have more of a home town feeling. We stopped and shopped in a few stores that we normally do not get to visit. This was really an enjoyable evening! We are looking forward to the next evening out! Maybe add an additional bandstand at McMackins (same as you do with the car show). Start with Big band music...70's then 80's then club music...that way each age group gets a chance to cut a rug, disco down or strut their stuff. Again this is a great idea!"
"Absolutely the best event in Hatboro in 25 years! Not only did it bring people to town but they were in the state of mind to BROWSE! Thank you all for such hard work."
"I'm sure you all agree that the debut First Friday was a great hit. As I walked around, I literally felt I was somewhere else. There was an excitement in the air that seemed to be catching on. As for Main Street Records, we had the best Friday night since Christmas. Coincidentally, Saturday was also good! Looking forward to May."
"All I can say is "WOW" what a wonderful job all of you have done in creating yet another fantastic event for Hatboro. You could feel the excitement in the air as you walked our sweet town on Friday evening. Everyone was having so much fun! So many of the shops I walked into were standing room only and outside on the street people were enjoying the music and artists and the camaraderie. Outstanding! I can't wait for the next one."
"We had a great time on Friday. We are looking forward to doing something each First Friday. We may expand to include some live music at the station. Keep up the good work!"
"What a great event! I want to say thank you to the committee for their excellent work. My customers loved all the music, art and events. They haven’t stopped talking it since last Friday night. My only regret is we were so busy Yin and I couldn’t leave the coffee shop to check all the other activities going on. This was a great win / win event for everyone involved, for example we had a classical guitarist Jesse Cohan performing in our shop and he booked a future gig from this event. Again, we want to say thank you to everyone involved for all the hard work that went into this event and we look forward to the next one."
"I think our "first" FFH was GREAT!! It was so much fun and I could feel the excitement in the air from the time I opened. It was great going outside every now and then during the day to see more and more FF flags appearing. The night was so much fun and all of my customers were enjoying themselves. I talked to so many people who were so happy that Hatboro started this and they can't wait until next month. "What a great idea" was all I heard. And, I agree. It really felt like a town coming together. I think this is what we all were hoping for! Congrats to everyone for a huge success!"
"I was also very impressed with the success of this event, especially with the fact that is was the first one and the weather was threatening all day. I can just imagine what the turn-out will be when the weather improves. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and we are looking forward to many more First Fridays in Hatboro. Congratulations on such a successful event!"
"I think it was fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of people we had at our store. There were times we could not maneuver around the store! I think that the crowds were great and generally people liked the idea of having Hatboro "open" at night! (this is why we have hours at night!) We did a grand opening Friday night. We had people offer to be at our store on the next First Friday...a groomer who will clip nails and a rescue for Grey Hounds. These are the types of attractions my customers will appreciate.....but I also want to get Elwood there on a Friday night. Elwood is the winner of the ugliest dog in the world contest! I would be interested in hearing other comments as well.....but I hope everyone was pleased....I would rate it a 10....let's keep the momentum going!"
"I just wanted to finally thank you for letting us participate in first Friday last month. We received several donations for the Boucher family and Children's Hospital. I also needed to let you know how impressed we all were with the generosity of the teenagers. Most all of the youth that passed by our table gave whatever they could whether it be change or dollars. It was heart warming to witness our areas youth helping a local family."
Thank you again,
Jennifer Fleming
"Thank you for a wonderful holiday celebration in Hatboro last night.
Our experience at the First Friday felt just like a Small Town Main Street.
The colonial lady with the lantern was super!! Loved Santa arriving on the Fire Truck.
The merchants were very welcoming with lots of "treats" and customer service was exceptional.
We enjoyed dinner midway through our walk at La Fontana and it was delicious.
The Pet Store was amazing and I was able to find gifts for our feline family members.
My niece was impressed by Village Hardware as she had never been there before. She said it
reminded her of an old fashioned shop like the one she visited with her grandmother many years ago.
The owner explained about the tradition of the bayberry candle which was very nice.
Gamburg's spirit was shown in their decorations. Love the store.
The music venues were great! We saw many little ones dancing.
At Lochel's restaurant, Santa came out of the restaurant to meet some kids passing by.
Having Santa in the Red Barn Mall was a great idea!!
Please extend my appreciation to everyone.
It was definitely a "Memory Night".
